Vazquez camp awaits confirmation of Donaire fight

MANILA, Philippines – The camp of Puerto Rican boxer Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. is awaiting for confirmation of the fight against Filipino-American Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr.
Felix "Tutico" Zabala, owner of the All Star Boxing Promotions, said they are waiting for developments from Top Rank and World Boxing Organization (WBO) about the Donaire fight.
“We are ready to make this fight. Bob Arum asked the WBO to sanction this fight and the title is now vacant. We are only waiting for confirmation from the WBO and Top Rank to make it," Zabala told Boxingscene.com.
Top Rank and All Star Boxing co-promotes Vazquez, son of Puerto Rican boxing legend, Wilfredo Vazquez Sr.
If the Donaire-Vazquez fight pushes through, it will be for the vacant WBO super bantamweight title.
Zabala said they are ready to work out the details of the bout.
“We are waiting for their replies on this matter and we will immediately work out the terms of the fight,” he said.
Donaire, the reigning WBC and WBO bantamweight champion, is moving up to the super bantamweight class in 2012.
He recently defended his titles against Omar Narvaez of Argentina.
